Neighbour NL works best when everyone shows up prepared, honest, and respectful. Here's what we ask of both customers and workers.

Policy Statement

Neighbour NL is a technology platform that connects customers with independent service providers. Neighbour NL is not the provider of any services listed on the Platform and does not employ, supervise, or control Workers. All services are performed by independent contractors.

This Community Standards & Safety Policy sets out the conduct expectations for all users of the Platform. Violations may result in account suspension or removal. This Policy is incorporated by reference into the Neighbour NL Terms of Service, Worker Agreement, and Customer Agreement.

Neighbour NL is a marketplace that connects customers with independent service providers. While we are not responsible for the conduct of either party, we expect everyone using the platform to act professionally, honestly, and with care for others' safety. Repeated violations of these expectations may result in account suspension.

For Customers

What we ask of customers

Please do

  • Provide accurate and complete information when posting a job.
  • Describe the scope of work clearly so workers know what to expect.
  • Ensure the work area is accessible and reasonably safe before the worker arrives.
  • Disclose any known hazards relevant to the job (e.g., icy surfaces, uneven ground, pets on property).
  • Be present or make arrangements for the worker to access the property.
  • Communicate promptly and respectfully with your worker.
  • Confirm job completion or report any concerns within the 24-hour review window.

Please don't

  • Do not request services that are outside the scope of what Neighbour NL supports.
  • Do not ask workers to perform tasks that require professional licences they may not hold.
  • Do not circumvent the platform by arranging direct payment with a worker.

For Workers

What we ask of workers

Please do

  • Only accept jobs you are genuinely able and willing to complete safely.
  • Arrive prepared with the tools and equipment needed for the job.
  • Communicate with the customer before and during the job if anything changes.
  • Perform all work in a professional and workmanlike manner.
  • Treat the customer's property with care and respect.
  • Follow all applicable health and safety practices for the type of work being done.
  • Mark the job complete promptly once the work is finished.

Please don't

  • Do not accept jobs that require skills, equipment, or licences you do not have.
  • Do not perform work in conditions that are unsafe for you or others.
  • Do not circumvent the platform by accepting direct payment from a customer.
  • Do not misrepresent your qualifications or experience.

What's required to join

Customers must provide

  • Full legal name
  • Email verification
  • Mobile phone verification (SMS code)
  • Residential address
  • Community / Town
  • Profile selfie photo
  • Payment method verification
  • Confirmation of age (18+)
  • Agreement that they own or have permission to authorize work on the property
  • Emergency contact name and phone number (required for in-home jobs)
  • Photos of the job location (up to 5, collected during job posting)
  • Acceptance of Terms of Service
  • Acceptance of Community Standards

Workers must provide

  • Full legal name
  • Email verification
  • Mobile phone verification
  • Residential address
  • Community
  • Profile selfie photo
  • Bank account connection through payment provider
  • Acceptance of Worker Agreement
  • Acceptance of Safety Standards

Optional worker badges

Workers can display optional qualification badges on their profile to help customers find the right person for the job. Workers may upload proof for admin review.

Service Restrictions

Prohibited services

The following services are not permitted on the Neighbour NL platform. Requests for prohibited services may result in account suspension.

Babysitting or childcare
Personal care or bathing
Medication administration
Nursing or healthcare services
Hazardous material handling
Roofing or tree climbing
Electrical work
Plumbing requiring licences
Any work requiring professional certification
Any illegal activity

Neighbour NL Safety Statement

Safety is a shared responsibility. Neighbour NL promotes a respectful and trustworthy community through account verification, secure payments, ratings and reviews, job documentation, and reporting tools. All users are expected to act responsibly, communicate honestly, and comply with platform policies.
